Halloween General Body Meeting 10/24
1 - General Body Meeting (10/24) Get excited because this will be our Halloween meeting!!! As usual, we will be meeting on Tuesday (10/24), 9PM in CL324. We will be having a costume competition & a potluck so come dressed up and bring some good food! Other things to remember:
Bring coins for to fill up those Penny War jars
Bring new/lightly used books to donate to HCEF
*Drinks will be provided so you don't have to bring any.

4 - Annual T-shirt Fundraiser Our t-shirt fundraiser is back and we have a brand new design!! All profits will go to HCEF so be sure to buy one for yourself AND your friends & family 👕 Place your order here.
5 - Wizarding 101 & Prep For Family Weekend, we will be having a Wizarding 101 event on Saturday (10/28), 11AM-12PM at the Cup & Chaucer. Bring your families over for an hour of magic ✨ On Wednesday (10/25), 9-10PM at CL213, we will be preparing some materials for the event. If you're free & willing to help, please drop by! Points will be awarded.
6 - Defense Against the Dark Arts Join us for our annual Defense Against the Dark Arts class with the Pitt Police! We will be having a self-defense class on Saturday (11/1), 5-7PM at Bellefield Gym. Registration fee is $5 ($6 if paid at the door) & all of it will go directly to HCEF! Space is limited so be sure to secure your spot ASAP. Sign up here. Non-PPP members are welcome to join.

General Body Meeting/Costume Contest/Potluck- Tuesday (10/24) 9PM CL324
1 - General Body Meeting (10/10) Our next General Body Meeting will be tomorrow (10/10) at 9PM in CL324. Don't forget to bring all your coins for the Penny War & any books for the HCEF book drive. Both of these are House competitions so be sure to try your best to earn those points! Current standing for the Penny War: 1) Gryffindor: 2 2) Hufflepuff: -4 3) Slytherin: -33 4) Ravenclaw: -35 We will be having a Landmark Orientation during this GBM so please be sure to bring a photo ID and know your Social Security Number! (Basically, we will be signing up to staff events. In return, money will be donated to HCEF for every hour we work! More info will be provided at the meeting.)
3 - Stand Up for Homeless Children (10/19) In the HCEF “Stand Up for Homeless Children” performance art installation, volunteers stand for 15 minutes in silence holding the drawing of the face of a child in front of their own face to represent the 3,000 Allegheny County children who were identified as homeless last year. (source: PA Department of Education). The purpose of the Stand Up is to raise awareness and spark conversation on the issue of child homelessness. Find more information here. If you're interested in joining, just show up in front of the Carnegie Museum of Art on Thursday (10/19) at 5:30PM.

Other important updates include our fundraising amount: we've raised $189 for HCEF already!! We started our Penny Wars tonight and it will be continuing for the rest of the semester. We will also be putting out the penny jars during tabling sessions so random strangers will have the power to change your standing ;) We are also doing a book drive for HCEF. If you have any new or used books in good condition, bring them to the GBMs! All books will be donated to HCEF students.
2 - Ravenclaw Tabling Session (9/29) Tabling sessions will now be a House activity! Each House will tabling in Towers Lobby once a month. Your HoH will be handling these sessions. Ravenclaw will be tabling this Friday. If you're interested, please fill up this form.
3 - PMADD (Sign up by Oct. 4th) PMADD registration is open! Sign up to do a service project with the club -- be sure to put "PROJECTPOTTER" when you sign up:)
4 - Volunteering with HCEF We will be having a workshop to do clearances together this Saturday (9/30) in Room 389, Hillman. We will also be volunteering as actors at the Hundred Acres Manor Haunted House on Sunday (10/15). If you're interested, please put down your name here.
5 - Hope in Action (10/3) HCEF will be hosting an event at Pitt on Tuesday (3/10), 5-6PM at the O'Hara Student Center! Bring your smartphone and join them for interactive and hands-on activities designed to empower community advocates in the issue of homelessness. Free pizza & drinks!!
6 - Invite a friend! We have even more opportunities for you to earn points!! For every non-member friend you bring to a ProjectPotter event, you will earn 2 points. If you invite a friend to become an official ProjectPotter member, you will earn 5 points.

1 - General Body Meeting Minutes (9/12) We had two representatives from HCEF drop by our meeting last night to tell us more about their organization. Please refer to the attached documents for important information on their volunteering opportunities and HCEF's upcoming events! Also, if you are interested in volunteering with HCEF, please fill up this interest form so we can provide you with more information on clearances etc.
2 - Sorting Ceremony (9/14) Are you ready to get sorted into your Hogwarts Houses? The annual Sorting Ceremony will be happening tomorrow (9/14), 9-11PM in the O'Hara Student Center Ballroom.To become an official Potterhead, please pay your $10 dues andfill up this membership form before the Sorting Ceremony (9/14). It's okay if you can't make it to the Sorting Ceremony. Just be sure to fill up the membership form and pay your dues! DRESS CODE IS BLACK.
3 - Herbology Lesson We will be having a scavenger hunt at the Phipps Conservatory this Saturday (9/16) for our Herbology Lesson. Points will be awarded and this will be time for you to get to know your House mates! We will meet in Towers Lobby at 1PM before heading to Phipps together.
1 - General Body Meeting Minutes (8/29) It was nice to see all of you earlier! Tonight's meeting was mainly to introduce new members to the club. If you missed it, no worries! Just take a look at the attached slides and you'll find all the info you need about ProjectPotter. Want to know more? Just send us an email :) We also played a fun ice breaker & door decorations which will be put up at the Ronald McDonald House for sick kids.
2 - Membership Form & Dues (BOTH NEW & RETURNING MEMBERS) To become an official Potterhead, please pay your $10 dues andfill up this membership form before the Sorting Ceremony (9/14). Dues can be paid at the next GBM (9/12) or at the Sorting Ceremony itself.
3 - A Night At Hogwarts (9/2) Our very first event of the year will be a collaboration with Pitt Program Council! Be sure to drop by the WPU Kurtzman Room on Saturday (9/2) anytime between 10PM-12AM. We will be screening a Harry Potter movie and there will be ton of Harry Potter fun 🎉
4 - Chipotter (9/12) We will be having our first fundraiser at Chipotle between 5-9PM on Tuesday (9/12). Grab dinner with fellow Potterheads before you head to the General Body Meeting. Post pictures of you at Chipotle on our Facebook event page to earn some extra points! Don't forget to mention that you're there for ProjectPotter so that 50% of your bill will go towards the club.
